The story behind Fern Cottage Art
Capturing the quiet magic of nature, one pattern at a time
Inspired by the gardens, countryside and seascapes of South West England, Fern Cottage Art will create nature patterns that capture the quiet beauty of this magical place.
I'm Fi from Fern Cottage Art, the designer that will be behind every collection. My work is deeply rooted in a lifelong love of plants, landscape, colour, and the changing seasons. Before turning to surface pattern design, I spent many years as a gardener and flower photographer, developing an eye for the intricate details, textures, and colours that make every bloom unique. I was also privileged to hold UK National Plant Collections, an experience that deepened my appreciation for the extraordinary diversity and beauty of the plant world.
Today, I translate that passion into timeless surface pattern designs inspired by the abundance of English gardens and the landscapes that surround my home in South West England. Every design is created by me, with carefully considered colour palettes that evoke a sense of joy, nostalgia and quiet wonder.
My debut collection, Dahlia Reverie, celebrates one of my favourite flowers through richly layered patterns inspired by the warmth and colour of late summer. It marks the beginning of a growing portfolio of floral and nature-inspired collections designed for fabric, wallpaper, home décor and lifestyle products.
Whether you're discovering my fabrics on Spoonflower, looking for designs to license, or simply sharing my love of beautiful botanicals, I'm delighted you've found Fern Cottage Art.
